This Lady Marlborough (1660 or Sarah Churchill (née Jennings), as the intimate friend of the queen, knows only of party interests and those of her husband, the Duke of Marlborough (1660 which she pursues with much ambition and cunning. But her haughty temper at last wears out the patience of the queen and causes a sad breach.
